| Welcome to the Fitchburg Municipal Airport (FIT), Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Serving the North Central Massachusetts Aviation Community. Located between the cities of Fitchburg and Leominster, FIT maintains two runways (14-32 & 02-20) suitable for corporate jet use. The airport has an automated surface weather observation system (ASOS) which reports weather by radio, telephone, and internet. FIT is home to many businesses offering a range of aviation sevices including flight training, scenic flights, charter flights, aircraft maintenance, and an airport restaurant. The airport is located near Rt. 2 (The Mohawk Trail) and between Rts 12 an 13. It is surrounded by shopping centers, restaurants, hotels and other commercial and industrial centers. The airport is a short ride from popular Mt Wachusetts Ski Area. The airport hosts many events on the airport grounds such as a circus, concerts, airshows, fly-ins and festivals thruout the year. |
